Considered a modern marvel of the world, Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam located in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River and is the most visited dam in the world. The dam created Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the United States (in terms of capacity), which supplies water to farms, businesses and millions of people in Nevada, Arizona, California and Mexico. Nearby Boulder City, located just 6 miles from the dam site, was built and designed by the government to house and feed the workers while they built the Dam.

Nevada's largest and oldest State Park, Valley of Fire is 46,000 acres of breathtaking views making it one of Nevada's greatest treasures. An abundance of red sandstone rock formations, petroglyphs (rock carvings) dating back 3,000 years, petrified logs, and other unique sites make up this geological wonderland. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife and several cactus species, as welll as, desert marigolds. Valley of Fire has also served as a filming location to movies such as Transformers, Casino, Total Recall, Austin Powers, Con Air, Star Trek: Generations and the 1966 western The Professionals. Valley of Fire State Park invites explorers to go on a historical and geological adventure.
